Luggage

Historically the most common types of luggage were chests, crates or trunks made of wood or other heavy materials which were usually shipped as freight. Since then, luggage has become more lightweight and easier to move. Luggage is any number of bags, cases and containers which hold a traveler’s articles during transit. Prior to the Second World War, luggage was large, and usually had to be moved by professional movers. Luggage proved to be so important during wars in previous centuries, that it was closely guarded by the army, and the loss of an army’s luggage would weaken and demoralize them.
